I liked Smile.
It got under my skin as the fish wives down at the docks might say, and it felt like a more elegant early 2000s thriller and a nice throwback.
However, I'm unsure what justifies.

And much like all things something that can communicate and is conscious can be.
That being said, I also think that Smile leaned too much into being psychological horror until the last part so that the ending feels thematically kinda disconnected from the rest of the movie.
